Family & Friends:
Yesterday, July 7th, was Karen's "Ground Hog Day" surgery ... Karen is doing well.
She used the same two surgeons from last year (Dr. Hyde & Dr. Barttelbort). And, once again, they did a terrific job! Dr. Hyde said Karen's prognosis is very positive, and that the preliminary lab results came back favorable. Dr. B. said the reconstruction procedure went well. He does amazing work and Karen looks great!
Karen will be at the hospital another day or two before coming home. Thank you for honoring her request of no flowers, calls, or visitors at this time. Get well cards are appreciated though, as are your kind thoughts and prayers. She needs her rest, and really appreciates your understanding!
Karen is touched by your voice mails and posts to this blog site over the last two days. Thank you for your healing energy, prayers, and positive thoughts -- she deeply appreciates it! Karen or I will post another update in a day or two.
With Love,
Jeff & Karen

We had quite a few of the La Jolla Toastmaster gang up here for July 4th weekend - a world away from what you were going through. You and Jeff were in our thoughts and hearts - a lot of healing energy beamed your way.

Hey Kiddo,
As usual you're my hero. This last episode only seals the deal. You are a constant well of strength for me -- from the time you moved to San Diego by yourself all those years ago till July 7th. I wish I lived closer so I could hug you personally. Please know that my hugs and kisses are coming at you from NYC. Onward and upward. . . All my love and prayers,

Hi long time friend,
Dearest Karen
I miss talking with you. This is the first I heard of your surgeries .
Wow, I just found out last week that my sister in law in Florida is facing the same challenges.
Knowing you you must be dealing with your recovery as you always do with great trust and as a contribution to everyone around you.
I relate to your experience with Blacky, we just had to put Samson to sleep in November. He was 15 and suffering. Love, Terry and Bob
Karen:
So glad to hear the surgery went well. To a thorough, speedy recovery. My thoughts and prayers are with you. Rest well.
